Update from Mr Moses on the New Build Project Planning Decision

Dear parents and carers

As some of you may know, Surrey County Council’s (SCC) planning application to move Reigate Priory Junior school into a modern, purpose-built home at Woodhatch Place was heard by Surrey County Council’s Planning and Regulatory Committee today. Although the application was recommended for approval by planning officers, the committee (who make the final decision) refused the recommendations to support the application.

At this time it is too early to know what next steps will be taken, however the school will remain in conversation with the Department of Education (DfE) and SCC and keep you informed of any developments.

I would like to reassure you that our ongoing priority is the care and education of your children and every day my staff continue to work diligently to provide the best possible provision for them.

The school’s view very much remains the same and clear; that our current building is not future proof or accessible to all children and ultimately, finding a new home remains essential.

I would like to thank you all for your ongoing support, understanding and cooperation.

Regards

Mr Moses
