WELCOME BACK
We hope you have had an enjoyable half term break and look forward to a learning filled second part of this Spring Term. Can you believe it?...we have passed the half way point in this academic year!

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
A reminder that the ‘teacher run’ after school clubs, return to the finishing time of 4.30 pm after half term.

YEAR 4 PARENT TEA
Year 4 parents, please let the School Office know if you are planning on joining Mr Lellman and Mr Moses on Thursday 23 February at 2:30pm. This is an informal occasion to chat about various topics related to Year 4 and learning at Reigate Priory in general.

PTA COMMITTEE AGM
Please come and support your PTA’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 28 Feb at 3:45pm in the Holbein Hall. There is s a crèche available and don't be put off by the ‘AGM’ bit!  It’s just a chance for you to come along and find out more about the PTA, meet other parents and staff, see some of the valuable extra equipment and resources the PTA has funded, and how we raise the money. Money that is ploughed straight back into the school to provide extra equipment, facilities and events, that the Priory would not otherwise have. This directly benefits your children and the school. For example PTA funds have recently bought art supplies, sports kits, projectors, and funded the Life Bus, just to name a few.  We are also looking to raise funds for the renewal of the mini-bus.

PTA GROWN UP FILM NIGHT
The ‘flicks’ and fish & chips, for a grown up evening out, on Friday 2 March - more details to follow.

PTA CHILDREN'S FILM NIGHT

INSET DAY
A reminder that Monday 12 March is an INSET day and school will be closed to children. The staff will be learning about developing their subject leader skills.

PTA CAKE SALE
Thank you to Fiona Page for organising the Year 5 Tea & Cakes. The next one is on Friday 16 March at 3.00pm where we hope Year 4 parents will provide cakes.

SCHOOL CLUBS FOR THE SPRING TERM
Clubs have begun again this week - Monday 9 January. CLICK to download the latest club information for this term.

REIGATE PRIORY WINTER HATS
Embroidered with our school badge, these red hats with a reflective strip are a perfect addition to the winter wardrobe - on sale in the School Office for £3.00.

PTA 50 / 50 CLUB
The 50/50 Club is a scheme run by the PTA to raise funds to pay for the insurance and upkeep of the school minibus. It is a vital resource which all the children love going on for not just sporting events such as Cricket and Netball but also for transporting on education visits such as the North Wales trip.

Like everything else the cost to keep them going has increased dramatically each year and therefore it is essential that we get as many parents, carers, grandparents etc to join the club to raise the £1000 plus needed!

CLICK to download more information on the 50 / 50 Club.

CAR PARKING
Please remember that you can park ‘free’ in Bell Street and Bancroft Road car parks between 8.35 – 9.05 a.m. and 3.20 – 4.00 p.m. You must display the ‘red’ Reigate Priory School ‘ticket’ on your windscreen. Please park considerately and within the allocated bays. The Civil Enforcement
Officers (a new name for parking attendants!) now have the power to issue fines for dangerous and inconsiderate parking.

On the other hand, if you are able to walk and/or cycle to school please consider that option. If your child is going to travel to school independently then you must read a copy of the school policy and complete the proforma – available from the school office.

SCHOOL MEALS
The cost of a school dinner remains at £2.00 per day. If your child has school dinners you will soon receive your ‘bill’ for a half term and prompt payment is essential. If you wish to pay weekly then please send in £10.00 each Monday morning. The on-line paying facility is also available via
www.surreycc.gov.uk/schoolmeals . Parents who are eligible for Income Support, Income Based Job Seeker’s Allowance and Child Tax Credit (not Working Tax Credit) can claim free school meals. Please contact Mrs. Pledge, in the school office, if you wish to apply. If you are eligible for
free school meals but do not wish to avail yourself of this service, could you please advise us as this affects the level of school funding.

For children who bring packed lunches, please encourage them to bring home all packaging and waste food. This helps reduce our rubbish and stops the squirrels scavenging in our dustbins!

A reminder that all playtime snacks should be as healthy as possible. NO chocolate, sweets or crisps – thank you. Also, we are a NUT FREE school due to the increasing number of children susceptible to allergic reactions.

WATER BOTTLES
Don’t forget to fill those Reigate Priory water bottles and NAME them!! Replacement bottles (£1.00) and lids (20p) available from the office.

ECO SCHOOL STEERING GROUP
We are proposing to set up an Eco School steering Group to further develop our efforts in creating a more sustainable school. Mr. Pearce (5AP) will shortly be recruiting team members and would welcome all parents. If you would like to be considered please contact him.

FRONT DOOR
For the information of new parents and a reminder to parents and children in Years 4,5 and 6, please can I emphasise that our Front Door (next to my office) is NOT the way in for pupils in the morning or out at 3.30 p.m. The correct way in and out of school for pupils is via the playground – using either the North Gate (Morrisons’ side) or the South side Park gates. The front door is for visitors who need to come to the school office to sign in.

HELPING IN SCHOOL
We welcome any parents or grandparents who would like to help in school. That ‘extra pair hands’ can make a real difference in many lessons! If you can help, please apply on line for CRB clearance at the following address:- https://disclosure.capitarvs.co.uk/babcocksupportservces/

GATES AT HOMETIME
Please be patience on the odd occasion the gates into the playground are not open at their usual prompt time. Occasionally the adult or 'Gate Prefects' can be otherwise detained through no fault of themselves - your patience is appreciated.

DOGS
We know the park is a nice place for ‘walkies’ but please can you refrain from bringing your dogs on to school premises.
